Would you please list an example or two of terrorism on the part of the revolutionaries prior to the war? The events I've read about were attacks by the British upon unarmed or sleeping colonists, e.g., Boston massacre, attacks on sleeping communities at Lexington and Concord.

I don't believe you can define the use of force during war as terrorism unless it is directed solely at unarmed civilians.
