This stands in marked contrast to what Arafat preaches to the outside world.

SR..note the reference to American weapons here:

He is preaching it, I think we're not listening but waiting to talk. There is a huge difference.

And yet he repeatedly gets to visit at the White House raising his stature and credibility. The lack of continuity (incontinuity) out of the US on this matter needs to be addressed. It appears to be in disarray.

<If you look back at the history of Palestine, especially the West Bank, after it was captured from the Turks, you'll find that the British intended to permit Jewish settlement in all of Trans-Jordan, the territory that included Israel, the West Bank, and present day Jordan.> that actuallly just adds fuel to the issue in that an imperial colonialist power Britain was arbitarily making the decisions--it is this aspect that that has opened up the charges that Israel was riding the coat-tails of British colonialism.
I myself see only tragedy on all sides--the prime event of the Israel movement was the 2nd Exodus--and what fueled that exodus? A people FLEEING ABSOLUTE HORROR--the horror of Europe that had decided the only good jew is a dead jew.
I ask where does the central/fundamental guilt stand,with Europe or with Palestine?--the answer,with europe,europe,europe,europe.Max>> Message 16566717
What were the early terrorist activities of jews in Palestine but the acts of despairing desperate people.
Slaughtered brutalized hunted down desperate people fleeing the evil of europe's vile psychotic evil anti-semitism.
Will you deny that the racist fascist views of the deceased Meir Kahane have not infiltrated in a significant portion of the jewish world?
I personally knew when Begin opened up the gateway to settlements (settlements settled by zealots that have the gall to reduce G_d to a real-estate agent that has ordained the occupied territories as belonging to them by a declaration of G_d)being rapidly established in the occupied territory; i knew then, that unless this policy was reversed and the settlements dismantled we would someday end up we're we are now.
My last hope i feel vanished when Rabin was assassinated by a zealot representing the faction that view "the only good Palestinian is a dead Palestinian" and Palestinians were just a less than human people living on land the G_d had given to the jews.
It was then i could see the extremist of both sides would rule the future. Max
