In his article he also mentioned Time Warner Cable
(TWTC). This company seprate from Time Warner ( they
have a 30% interest in the company)
TWTC lays the last mile to the customer. Is any one familiar
with the company and their future.
It seems to me with the added broadband they will do well.
They concentrate on commercial busines.

JDS "don't know with certainty where the bottom will be," said Anthony Muller, JDS Uniphase's chief financial officer. "Once we hit the bottom, then we can begin to anticipate what will happen on the way up."

So they are not saying the second half of this year is going to pick up and they will be selling all those boxes.

Additional consolidations and cuts are possible, including layoffs, company officials said.

If the box market would be so promising why "Chromatis was a centerpiece for Lucent's new initiatives in making high-speed fiber-optic equipment..." but LU closed it down?

Baltimore Sun (Mar 28, 2002). Full story underneath.
Experts don't see an immediate spark to ignite a turnaround in telecommunications, unless a change in legislation calls for increased spending in broadband.
"We need to see a turnaround in capital spending, that would help definitely," Anderson said. "A lot of analysts are saying corporate profitability will not turn around until midyear." As if the industry needs more problems, the Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating the accounting practices and certain transactions of a number of telecommunication companies. "It is a mess," said Challenger. Copyright © 2002, The Baltimore Sun <http://www.sunspot.net>
