I think you make yourself clear, Joe. To the extent that it would make it difficult for a "moderate" party to take positions, you are right, but I think there is a left and a "right" way of thinking about most things.

That's true, except most Americans fall into the conservative or liberal camp. What about those of us who believe in a strong military, government fiscal responsibility & a safety net for the truly needy plus a woman's right to choose?
