>> 1) Are there any SLR digital cameras?

Sure, but most of them are designed for professional use, and cost an arm and a leg.

>> 2) I would like to use some of my nikon lenses but I guess nikon will not have a digital version that uses the lenses? I assume I can get some kind of lens holder and use my close up lenses.

Current generation ccd sensor arrays are much smaller in physical size than 35mm film, so the lens geometries necessary for slr digital cameras differ radically from the lens geometries that worked with slr film cameras. I don't think you'll be able to use your Nikon lenses on a digital back for a while, but maybe somewhere down the road...

OT:

Are there any SLR digital cameras?

sure, every digital camera with an lcd is thru-the-lens.

but I guess nikon will not have a digital version that uses the lenses?

what diameter is the mount? The 995 is threaded and they sell several lenses for it.
