No, Dr. Ravi Batra is not the same guy known as Sollog, the infamous seer who claims to be the modern-day Nostradamus.

Dr. Ravi Batra is an academic and was at one time associated with Southern Methodist University and celebrated as one of the top three economists of the U.S.A.

He has written several books including "The Great Depression of 1990" and "How to Survive the Great Depression".

More recently his "Crony Capitalism" remarks were quoted time and again, in the mid 90s, by one Taylor (see some of his stuff in his mining newsletter at gold-eagle.com.)

BTW, I have not visited Sollog's site, sollog.com for several months!!! It seems to me that he has lost his touch.

IMHO, Dr. Ravi Batra's remarks about the Depression were accurate. But it seems the powers that be manipulated things to "postpone" the crash which happened anyway. Even Doug Casey and Harry Schultz were much maligned and ridiculed for stating that the US stockmarkets were terribly overvalued about ten years ago.
