Hi, SR - When time permits, I would like to respond to your well-considered post. "Intentionally or unintentionally, such statements provoke responses, and when they express disagreement, or demonstrate confusion about your meaning, I don't believe any slight is intended." Agreed; however I think your point is somewhat negated by responses other than yours. Since they were not directed at you, you are perhaps not "standing in my shoes" when you make that observation, and do not see what I saw. Hyperbole begets hyperbole. In the give-and-take of spirited debate, the Sophist Switch, the Veiled Implication, and the Subtle Inference are never as clear to the observer as to the target. Properly speaking, they have no part in Honest Debate. Would that it were so. Best wishes, Jim
