All I read into it is transparency, or lack thereof, and like you I think it is vital. I'm concerned that parents are aware and of course, so many are not. (BTW transparency is a big globalization issue.)

I'm not in favor of writing policy to restrain the unpopular from input. That's just not what education is about. Parents input goes through the local school board, an elected group that holds at least monthly meetings.

This is just one more good argument for choice in school. Maybe it is an adjunct to Globalization.

Do you think elements of evolution could be taught without trying to unify it as theory in conflict with creationism?

This becomes an argument similar to media bias. If you believe the media is left biased without even realizing it, then you are "way-out" even if you view yourself as moderate. Same goes with the schools. You likely saw the other article where historical standards were being considered and a professor who reviews these standards called them "historically irresponsible" for leaving out Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin. That is not a small thing to leave out even if your claim is that it was a first draft.

I try not to kill the messenger simply because he comes from the right. Just like not all black conservative writers are Uncle Toms.
