>>Personally, I would probably advocate Israel unilaterally moving out of the settlements.<<

I suggested this be done on a quid pro quo basis. Empty a settlement and provide a plot of land and house to individual Palestinian families willing to sign a peace pledge. If one breaks the pledge, they and one other family get evicted.

A carrot to go with the stick and a clear signal that Israel's ready to seriously clean house on the settlements issue, in exchange for peace.... even if they have to sign up the Palestinians one by one.

This can be done while Israel is in ceasefire or not.

Hi, slacker. Good to see you here.

The world cant afford to allow a strategy based on suicide bombing to become successful.

Agreed. However, it has shown signs of success and it will undoubtedly be used more and more and on different fronts. Don't be surprised if such bombings begin to take place in the US.

What to do? Appeasement is out of the question for obvious reasons. The problem is that the only way to prevent such bombings, or at least minimize their scale, is to engage in things which are an anathema to our way of life.
