The thought from Friedman's column which impressed me was the generalizability of the suicide bomber paradigm. That's what I wish to think about. As for the "strategic choice," I would have to go back and read the essay and ask you more to see just what you had in mind. But I'm much too busy with other things today to do that.

When the Israeli papers say, this is a strategic choice, you don't believe it, when Debka lays out the strategy,. . .

That shouldn't surprise you. I have no idea which papers are reliable among the Israeli papers and I have much more misgivings about Debka than you do. I increasingly see your recommendations as unreliable, but that should not surprise you. Friedman, I have my own ways to come to conclusions about.

So certainly, Friedman has more credibility with me. If I had some basis for assessing the reliability of all the major Israeli papers, some of them might have credibility with me.
