Israel and America must get committed to developing the Palestinian economy

Yes, indeed. This is another reason that regime change is necessary. Arafat has received literally hundreds of millions of dollars for economic development. The vast majority of the money went into Swiss bank accounts or to buy weapons. Even the Arabs don't give him money directly anymore, though the EU is still paying up.

Palestine will not calm down until a middle class emerges

Did you know that most of the suicide bombers are educated from middle class families?

There was an article in the Jerusalem Post about that fact a few days ago. I'll try to dig it out.

One thing that most Americans don't want to realize is that this is a religious war that will not stop from the Palestinian standpoint until every single Jew is thrown into the sea. If you don't believe me, research some of the Palestinian web sites to get an idea what these people want.

Israel and America must get committed to developing the Palestinian economy. Palestine will not calm down until a middle class emerges that doesn't want to give up their lattes, Internet and SUV.

Good thought. If there were some way to get from the present reality to that thought, . . .
