If the Palestinians had won in 1967, do you think that they would have occupied Israel or would they have embraced the Israelis like brothers?

Who started the aggressions in 1967?

I see it as a result of generations of hopelessness that has arisen from oppression under Israel's apartheid like policies.

Excuse me teevee... Israel captured the West Bank in 1967 because King Hussein of Jordan FOOLISHLY opted to throw in his lot with Egypt's Nasser and attack Israel.

The West Bank was technically still part of Jordan, and negotiations about the territory's fate were conducted ONLY with Jordan until 1989, when Hussein opted to rid himself of the problem by disclaiming the territory.

That very act, changed the nature of the occupation from one of occupying Jordanian territory until a peace treaty was arrived at, to one where Israel had full responsibility for the future status of the territory.

If the Palestinians, who were formally citizens of Jordan, had not wanted their homes and territory conquered and occupied by the Israelis, they might have thought about that before they permitted, and encouraged their King to conduct military operations.

IMO, Israel would have had every right to force all the residents of the West Bank to pack and go to Jordan, leaving their homes behind.

That's why the Arab leaders cannot disclaim their responsibility for what is transpiring today. Jordan, with the silent approval of other Arab nations, occupied and annexed the Palestinian partition, making it part of the Kingdom of Jordan. Thus, they have responsibility for the millions of Jordanian citizens who they placed in harm's way through war, who they placed under occupation through their foolish aggression, and who they ABANDONED to the Jews in 1989.

Now, you'll never hear an Israeli or Arab leader assert such a claim because it would be politically incorrect and threaten the peace between Jordan and Israel, as well as Jordan's stability, which is vital right now. But it's the truth of the situation.

And a further truth is that King Abdullah really has no desire to see a Palestinian state because it would place his own legitimacy in question and end the Hashemite reign.

So who's responsible for the "hopelessness" of those who call themselves Palestinians? Start with the Turks, follow with the British and French, add some Zionist Jews, and liberally mix with Arab inter-regional and strategic realpolitik and intrigue.
