You are absolutely right, Tom.

I had a funny experience the other day. I've been riding the bus to work for the last month. On the way home, a scruffy, gaptooth, smoky smelling couple got on the bus, switched when I did, and got off at a Shopping Mall when I did. I waited for another bus while they went into the mall. While I waited, I spotted two short lengths of rope and started practicing a few knots. The couple came back out and struck up a friendly conversation about knot tying, and the man asked me if I knew this knot and that. Sheepshank, sheetbend, square knot, bowline, etc. He showed me a couple of knots he knew. I asked him where he learned knots. Yep. The Boy Scouts.
