Yes, there are anti-Semites in France as there are racists in this country that burn down black churches... Both are odious and neither supported by the population at large.

About the anti-Semetic attacks in France....

Theo Klein, 81 years old, former president of the Jewish French Council, survivor of the raids against Jews organized by the Nazis and their French collaboration government during the Second World War, belongs to those who defend France from the accusations of anti Semitism.

Klein concedes that vandalism against French Jewish institutions has grown since September 2000. But he relates this violence to a general climate of social uproar.

"Those who attack synagogues and Jewish schools, attack also
fire-fighters, police, teachers and other institutions," Klein says. While he condemns the attacks, Klein urges French Jews not to accuse the Arab youth of anti Semitism.
