"I think the RBOCs are more risk averse" Boy, you surely have a way with understatement!! I was almost saying that due to the RBOCs inertia this network collapse etc would take long to be implemented. They would say technology not mature, standards not written in stone, etc. Hey those are the guys who took 20 years to make ISDN wide available! They are the guys which took a decade to make ADSL -partially- available. So a next purchase cycle is not something that is going to happen that soon.
