Somehow I find it difficult to give much credence a confirmed atheist's attempts to determine what a personal god may or may not be. Firstly, I have never said I was an atheist; secondly, I have stated many times that I am not; thirdly, I have engaged in discussions about God and theology for a great number of years without your permission, and I will continue to do so. I am not one of those who would deny either atheists or any of the thousands upon thousands of believers in other disparate belief systems, the human right to engage in open discussion and sharing of knowledge and opinion. Your bigoted and ugly slur implying a second class status for atheists, however, is duly noted. When I yelled out "13" I meant the shoe size, Hodgkins. Mr. Dithers correctly responded to the summons; and we have it on his own authority that the shoe fits. The word "shoe", however, sounds sufficiently unlike "I.Q.", that I seriously question whether your unwelcome intrusion here may be justified on the basis of impaired hearing. It seems rather more likely that you heard the word "thirteen shoe" very clearly but simply contrived to intrude with a likely justification. You are trying to make a long harvest, however, out of a small handful of corn... "I don't think you would much appreciate me trying to define what you as an atheist believe If you believe I have misunderstood either atheism or the concept of a "personal god", you only need to contribute an intelligent response to share your objection. You certainly are not being prevented from an intelligent response by any restrictions upon either your freedom of speech, or your thought. Even if you were an atheist, I believe that most of the people on SI would permit you to have an opinion--even when such an opinion was intrusive, rude, and intentionally obtuse--as it clearly is here. Thanks for your great "contributon". I can fully appreciate, from this example of absolutely childish stupidity, why the circle of polite company which will tolerate you has been narrowed to a very few exceptionally tolerant individuals... I will close now, lest I be accused of pouring water on a drowned mouse...
