What determines a great stock is determined by a great deal of varied criteria.

If you ask the upper management of Enron what they think of the stock, I am sure they would have nothing but accolades for its performance. If you ask the same question of its employees you may get an entirely different perspective.

The same is probably true for barrick, if you ask management, they would in all probability have nothing but praise for the stock. If you ask shareholders, who are not traders, they may have a different opinion.

Whatever, barricks vulnerabilities are to a rising gold price will only be determined when and if the pog rises above a threshold that may be costly to the company. However, to take the companies word, or to infer the credibility of its pro forma financial statement, which include vague summaries of its hedgebook position, is to be somewhat naive in the current climate.
