There are a shit load of IT people looking for work along with H1 visa people I interviewed 6 people for a job recently. Two of them foreigners just laid off from jobs as outside contractors. They are having a very difficult time finding next assignment. Both indicated to me that up until recently IRS wasn't checking for presence at Fortune 500 companies of outside contractors who were staying beyond the 12 month limit before they would have to leave position or to be considered full time employees.
