I listened to Qwest CC yesterday and little Joe was in a very somber mood. Probably he knew he's fighting a losing game. Qwest will feel more pains.

Best Buy 4th-Qtr Net Rises; Sales Exceeding Forecasts (Update1)

Eden Prairie, Minnesota, April 2 (Bloomberg) -- Best Buy Co., the largest U.S. electronics retailer, said fiscal fourth-quarter earnings rose more than expected and sales this quarter are exceeding forecasts.

Net income in the quarter ended March 2 rose 84 percent to $350 million, or $1.62 a share, from $190 million, or 89 cents, a year earlier, the company said in a statement distributed by Business Wire. Sales surged 28 percent to $6.98 billion.

Best Buy was forecast to earn $1.61 a share in the fourth quarter, according to analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial/ First Call. The company has beaten estimates in seven straight quarters.

The company said same-store sales are forecast to rise 3 percent to 4 percent this quarter and year. It estimated profit of 30 cents to 32 cents in the first quarter and $3.15 to $3.25 for the year.
