Vesper -which is Venus in Latin for the first "star", as the Roman thought it to be, to appear in the sky.

Hey where else you get this cultural trivia but here, hein?

It is definitely a nice change of pace from the duck trivia <g>....

A Vesper executive explained that: Vesper's network is fixed. If an user moves and the call can crop. They say they don't have traffic like a mobile network, neither roaming, hence Vesper's services can't be said to be a mobile service.

This definitely sounds like a defendable position. The only way to avoid mobility completely is to require a non-portable unit. This would kill off Vesper and any other WLL operator. I dont think that Anatel is looking to have any more spectrum to auction.

Another article on BCP....the Safra's are looking to inject more cash but BellSouth is refusing.

A little surprising that BellSouth isnt playing ball. They have been talking about concentrating their foreign holdings on Latin America for quite some time. This strategy goes out the window if they dont have a property in Brazil. They have sold off most of their assets in Europe.
