Unless that religious belief comes into conflict with your science. In some fields that is avoidable. In others it is not.

Correct. You can believe in a Supreme Force without believing that your well-being is important to same. We are (afterall), rather powerful as compared to cows; but most of us are less than predisposed toward their best interests...
