This Afghan Girls Back to School Project seems to be more Laura Bush's baby than G.W.'s. Laura is a former teacher who has her feet planted squarely on the ground. They both care sincerely about the education of children in Afghanistan. Since the teacher's union is almost exclusively composed of liberal voters, it seems to me this would be a subject near & dear to Democrats hearts. What would it take for so many Liberals to drop the bitterness & acknowledge this administration's adept handling so far of this struggle that they did not pick or choose to fight. It was thrust upon them by history.
