As he waited for the ambulance, he noticed the striking resemblance of Muffy to Hot Lips Hoolihan. He was taken back, to those wonderful days of camaraderie forged over so much misery and discomfort, fear and anger. He could cry when he thought of all those young men who had lost limbs, and sometimes lives, in a police action they barely understood, but he remembered most the bravery and spirit of the doctors and nurses who tended them.
