Is that really a representative set of active websites?

Nice to know that www.kissmyarse.tv has been up longer than is.yourpimp.com

How about Solaris 8 avg of 12 days?

www.linux64.com is running Microsoft-IIS/5.0 on Windows 2000 ?

Hehe - the main reason why FreeBSD is at the top, is because FreeBSD was free, had a much better kernel some years ago and has a more modular kernel design than Linux.

FreeBSD has since lost a lot of market share and is about to turn into a niche instead of mainstream webserver OS, although it's still technically better than Linux. This is marketing... Linux is marketed well by its users.

As far as I know, there hasn't been a Linux kernel vulnerability that would require a server reboot if the server is behind a firewall, so Linux will probably replace the FreeBSD servers at the top as time passes.
