IBM blessed Intel with the order for the chips for the PC because they wanted to be sure there would never be any chance that the PC could compete with IBM's serious computers.

They looked for, and selected, what they thought was a sure loser chip from a sure loser company.


Is that why they bought Intel stock to the tune of owning 13% of the company for a while? Intel a loser, inventing both the microprocessor and the DRAM? What did you invent? What does that make you?
