We don't need their oil. Japan does, they get something like 65% of their oil from them. Europe does, they get something like 30% of their oil from them. The war is about existence, nothing else. It might even be that the best thing that could happen to everyone would be if the arabs cut off the oil supply entirely. That would force the world to conserve and find alternative sources. However even if the oil dried up right this second, the problem of islam would still be with us.
