If I was sharing an IQ with someone the combination would still add up to being higher than yours.

I'm still awaiting the threatening PM's. I promise I won't report you to SI. I just want to see how much of an imagination you have. I want to see how you compare to the real thing.

No fair using things that have already happened, anyone can cheat.

Let's set some standards. Minimums. Bush league threats aren't allowed, okay.

This Middle East situation of going to be over soon. Everyone seems to say there is no end in sight.

I disagree for the following reasons:
Arafat now knows that he has to act if he wants to remain. Also think that Sharon's comments about exile were very calculated. There will be no exile and Arafat will look like he has a small victory. That will enough to save face to begin talking peace. That small victory is absolutely necessary as he needs to show that he is still in a position of strength to his people. Talking with total humiliation will not be acceptable to anyone. I also think he wants to have a legacy of the one who fought and got freedom for his people. No doubt he wants to be in the history books as a liberator and not a "martyr".

Israel under pressure from the US to finish off this phase quickly. Why is the US pressuring? The Europeans are getting restless. US cannot afford a vote in the UN in which the British (for example) vote against them. EU today issued another warning to Israel to pull out or they will look at additional actions. I can guess they will take diplomatic actions of some sort. Does Israel care about this? NO!
However, the Americans do and don't want to be isolated against world opinion for too long. If the Europeans take additional steps(which seem to be planned), it would be a nightmare for the Bush administration as they will be seen as anti-Arab for being the lone voice supporting Israel...but more importantly it puts them opposite their key Europeans allies.
That also explains why the US voted in favor of the last UN resolution but did not talk about it afterwards..you can bet it was done under EU pressure. The US does not want to be isolated.

Ceasefire is almost upon us; Israel is now going full speed to meet objectives. My guess they will be done by the weekend. That will be the begining of the end of this whole mess.
Shortly they will all being living side by side peacefully.
Not too much later, they will be living peacefully as 2 separate countries.

Call me an optimist...but I am sure this will happen. Too many people are just looking at what is happening on the surface but there is much more going on there.

jmho.
