It is a self fulfilling prophecy, if two sides think war is necessary then war happens.

i think only a fool lets his enemy inside the gates. the soviet union was a strong enemy of the united states and we defeated them without having to declare an all out war like you suggest.

the problem is you want to kill indiscriminately. let's just kill all the muslims. a far better approach is to destroy terrorists who threaten the united states and to keep foreign invaders out of our country. of course that is only part of the solution. the other half of the solution is to stop intervening around the world giving rise to animosities against the united states in the first place.
