Once a person is in the situation where they have a gun and it saves them they don't argue with the need for them.

Why don't you have some courage like me, I never have packed a gun. Not because I couldn't justify using it, but because I am more civilized than thou, and have the courage to take my chances against the gun packers life yourself. Have fun shooting someone.
