The drop in imports is more related to the stalemate in regulatory, auctions of new band and horse trading among operators and regulator.

BCP's default will filter through the market in a few weeks.

Anatel has changed its top man. Now it will be more market oriented. The engineers will give way for business oriented people. This is good for the sector.

So if TIM kicks off GSM in S. Paulo others will have to follow domino-like.

One who's going to take a beating here is long distance. Worldcom-Embratel most likely will lose. I see WCOM getting rid of Embratel soon, soon meaning during 2002.

Argentina? Their are in as deep a shit as they were at the end of last year. Not reached the bottom yet.

Chile holding alright. Venezuela not, but with oil touching 30 dollar a barrel, they will muddle through.
