Oh pooey.... the Mongols were a breath of fresh aire compared to the stagnant oppressive Caliphate and Islamic rulers . They were ruthless horse-rider warriors , but no more ruthess than Mohammed's faithful madmen and greedy slaughtering raiders. The Mongols were fully aware that they were not great statesmen and effective organized rulers , so once they conquered they allowed most of the people they conquered , self rule . And once they did smash the stranglehold of the Caliphates , much of the trade routes actually opened up and people rejoiced . Everything happens for a purpose , and the Mongols are/were living proof that Mohammed's schizophrenic visions and his satanic verses were no more the "Truth" than any other previous religious barbaric superstitions including Christianity and Judaism. The Mongols did the world a huge favor , imo , made things more "lively", LOL so get off your rocking horse. ;-))
