brilliant uncirculated StGaudens or Morgan Silvers are the top

This quote is misleading! Brilliant Uncirculated is just the beginning of the "Mint State" grade of uncirculated coins that can range from MS60 (most often associated with brilliant uncirculated) through MS70.

There seems to be a lot of interest in numismatics being generated by those who are promoting the precious metals sector on the Porch. Because of complexities in coin collecting, confusion runs rampant.

Please! Collecting coins (even those that are "slabbed" and graded) for investment purposes is at best, a very long term approach. I've been accumulating "investment" grade coins since the early eighties and I still don't call it an investment. I call it a hobby.

In the realm of investments, numismatics are only for those who are prepared to loose what they spend, and then some.

JMO, of course!
