It is my opinion that David Duke has a much larger following than Jesse Jackson. Why do I say that? Look at the population base of each. For the most part, it's racial. I read a story the other day (sorry, didn't save the link) that reported the extent of Duke's influence in political contests in the state of Louisiana. The numbers surprised me. The focus of the story was: If you think that Duke is an aberration, think again.

Let us not forget that the Republican Party is a coalition. Included in the coalition are political conservatives, religious conservatives, social conservatives and, yes, white racists. More than you realize.
