I think vanilla Coke sounds like a great idea. And NOTHING would drive me to Pepsi....I am even thinking that I should stop flying United Airlines since they are switching to Pepsi as of May 1.

Back in the 60s when pharmacies had soda fountains I worked in one. Each fountain had a place for a 3 gallon bottle of syrup and was hooked to a tank of fizz water.

You could order our soft drink and then get a squirt of flavoring from one of the several spouts that added vanilla, cherry, lemon, lime, chocolate... The vanilla extract was about 30 proof and had a lot of teenage drinkers. A Coke with double vanilla was very popular with dudes buying a drink for their dates.
