The explanation I gave works. You don't have to believe that it is true. There may be other explanations that work logically. You are right that one can choose to believe or not. "And the point is that, while I cannot disprove the existence of God, you can't prove it either. It ultimately comes down to what you want to believe." If you thought I was trying to prove something to you it was your mistake. "All of these imply a when (time line), where (spacial orientation), and a what (mass). Details, mere details. You can't say any of those mean anything inside the singularity. OTOH, who said time was unending? You? Prove it. The function of time is to flow along a continuum of past to present. We never experience past. We also never experience future. The past is re-collected but always in the presence. The future is anticipated but always in the present. We virtually live in an eternal present. Some Theologists, philosophers, and even physisists look at the construct of time as a convenient illusion to help explain experience. Even from the pragmatists point of view if you try to follow time to a beginning point you would have to establish a before for the beginning. OTOH, who said time was unending? You? Prove it. No not me. I consider time to be the convenient illusion. Some physisists have proofs that time is not eternal. I accept the eternal present explanation but that requires a transendence beyond the Temporal aspects. No imagination huh??? cheap shot.
