Maybe they could all come together publicly in school thru Buddhism...

It is considered only a "philosiophy" , and doesn't pray to a God, they could have a room for meditation and chanting for calmness and serenity ...and all would have to leave the knives and guns at the door.

The christians could privately pray to Jesus , and the Mohammedans could privately pray to Allah, and the Jews could privately pray to Jehova.

;-)

personal expression is not governmental expression
the child drawing a picture is not, imo, a governmental entanglement
I've actually said that, because I dealt with that in my own classroom
A person praying alone is not governmental expression
a prayer led by the government is governmental entanglement
a person wearing a cross around their neck who happens to work for the government is personal expression
a cross or other symbol on government grounds is entanglement

The key thing for me is- is the symbol associated with a private person? or with the government? In people's minds will they think "this is the government doing this" or "this is a private person doing this"? And I wouldn't accept a little plaque in front of a huge creche on public property saying "this is the personal display of Joe Schmoe: because no one would believe that- or I hope no one would
