Joe, I am not justifying what the Intel rep said. Frankly, I get the impression that Intel is still unprepared for a corporate wide stance against model numbers.

So they send out for the Aberdeen Group to write a report on QuantiSpeed. Then they put seminars over the web (some of which contains questionable information, I agree). But when confronted with a simple defensive reaction from AMD, they can't seem to answer with any kind of confident response.

IMO, Intel is really going about this half a$$ed. I don't see a problem with them defending their viewpoints, but they simply aren't offering a strong case, and that may hurt them, as I'm sure AMD will continue to push the "AMD Honest" policy, as Albert calls it.

Intel should either put the company 100% against QuantiSpeed, and really push for a better metric, or they ought to shut up about it entirely, and let it work itself out. All this wishy-washy stuff is not good.
