Looks like that single point man is back to being Ballmer.

Looks like you're assuming they won't hire a new President and COO. What I've read hasn't made that clear at all:

"Microsoft did not say who would replace Belluzzo, who joined the company in 1999 and became president and COO in February 2001. A company spokesman was not immediately available to comment."

Have you heard something more definitive?
