Thanks for your thoughts on SWC. From your post, I see the positives as:
1. It is American.
2. Good exploration.
3. Good balance sheet.
The negatives appear to be:
1. Consistent downside production surprises.
2. Management keeps coming to the markets for capital, (12% dilution in February equity financing), despite the fact they have a producing mine.
3. Reserve accounting issues with the SEC.
It does not seem clear to me that the positives outweigh the negatives. If you want to invest in platinum (and I share your interest in that regard), is SWC the best way? What about the South African producers, or the Canadian exploration plays described on this and the Precious and Base Metal Investing threads? In this exciting bull market for precious metals, I would hate to waste any money on a company that could not deliver the goods.
Just some thoughts to stir the drink.
