I am off on the most lovely tangent.

No doubt you are aware of the argument that capitalism could not have developed without the system of double-entry bookkeeping, and bills of exchange.

Both developments are credited to the Lombards. However, if you look twice, both developments should be credited to the Arabic merchants with whom the Lombards dealt.

I am looking at events from 800 A.D. - 1300 A.D.
