C, the letter is deliberately mislabeled. It purports to be from "foreign policy experts". It's not; rather it's from the right wing pro-Sharon-Netanyahu lobby, a few of which have serious credentials as foreign policy experts.

I wouldn't sign it. Arafat has the support of the Palestinian people. If we don't talk to Arafat, that won't make him go away. Like it or lump it.

Yesterday Saddam apparently floated a trial balloon to allow weapons inspectors in. As we discussed yesterday, this will make the Wolfowitz-Perle-Woolsey crowd unhappy, because they want war-war rather than jaw-jaw. So, the timing of the letter is interesting.
