Dan, <Hyperthreading helps - not a lot - but it helps.>

The most interesting aspect of HyperThreading is that it improves 2P performance more than it improves 1P performance:

1P non-HT to 1P HT: 9.2%
2P non-HT to 2P HT: 17.1%

Still, I'm rather disappointed that Athlon MP retains the lead in AnandTech's tests. I thought the E7500 chipset would be an improvement over the old 860 RDRAM chipset, but apparently the improvement isn't that big.

P.S. - AnandTech also points out yet another inconsistency in QuantiSpeed marketing: "The modeling system obviously makes much less sense in the server world as the benchmarks used to come up with the model numbers are not server benchmarks at all. Customers in the server markets are also much less likely to buy based on clock speed alone."
