mr. dy,

i believe that msft would have been much better off just focusing on software. software and only software. msft got greedy and tried to expand into EVERYTHING. they missed the boat when it came to enterprise software. they cannot compete with sap, orcl, sebl, psft when it comes to internet application software. with all their money they should have been the leader in this field by now. instead they are not even on the radar screen.

x-box is a consumer electronic appliance. msn is all about content management not software. pda's are consumer electronics. recently, they announced they are entering into to the storage market. they became an investment house that invested in everything from startups to telecoms unsuccesfully.

so, imjo, msft should have stuck to software and hired and produced the best products. again, imo, msft's future looks bleak they will be a niche player in the enterprise compared to sunw, ibm, orcl and sap.

i hope this answers your questions, rocky.
