Wayne: Thanks for posting the article. There's a new book on creative accounting: 'The Financial Numbers Game: Detecting Creative Accounting Practices,' by Charles W. Mulford, Eugene E. Comiskey
I picked up a copy at Buy.com for <$30 landed. While it's dry and somewhat repetitive, I'm finding it useful.
One insight is the extent that financial statements are a collection of judgements and estimates. As Munger indicates, there's a lot of wiggle room.
