The CIPH ovarian ca test was based on a number of (as yet unknown) proteins whose combined pattern of expression allows you to discriminate between ca and non-ca. At this point they have no idea of what the actual proteins are - basically all they know is their molecular weight and the fact that they stuck to the particular substrate they were using for their chip.

Please note that CIPH very likely does not have the rights to use their chips in clinical screening - they have only rights in drug discovery and "life sciences."
