The US had not had good luck with nuclear reactors BUT the French and the Brits use them and,
as far as I know, they have used them successfully. They have not had problems with safety.

What I hear about the nuclear reactors in the US is that the personnel who run the plants are poorly trained.
There may be construction problems as well. Still, there is always the problem with a terrorist attack, but
I imagine that there are easier sites for terrorists to hit.
