Raytheon and Northrop Grumman to Hold Press Conference Call on April 5

LEXINGTON, Mass., and LOS ANGELES, Apr 4, 2002 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Raytheon Company Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Daniel P. Burnham and Northrop Grumman Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Kent Kresa will hold a telephone conference call for news media representatives on Friday, April 5, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. ET. The purpose is to discuss the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Explosive Detection System/Explosive Trace Detection general contractor program.
Raytheon and Northrop Grumman have teamed to pursue the project, which was mandated by the Aviation and Transportation Security Act of 2001. It calls for the deployment of explosive detection systems to screen 100 percent of checked baggage at all 438 U.S. commercial airports by Dec. 31, 2002.
