No, the way this works is that there are price points that the OEMs have come to expect from Intel. 2.4Ghz was just introduced so its got to fit into a price bracket. The general price move happens in a few days and that's when you'll see the waterfall of device prices get adjusted to make room for the 2.4GHz part at the top of the scale.

This isn't a concern for the OEMs as they know where these prices are going months in advance and set up thier backlogs accordingly.

It only looks like something to the casual observer looking in from the outside.
