QUALCOMM Issues Statement Regarding CDMA2000 1X Chipsets

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2002--QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM - news) today issued the following statement related to early shipments of its CDMA2000 1X Mobile Station Modem (MSM(TM)) MSM5100(TM) and MSM5105(TM) chipsets and system software.

QUALCOMM detected an error which could occur in a small portion of the early shipments of its CDMA2000 1X MSM5100 and MSM5105 chipsets that could result in certain performance issues of wireless devices using those chipsets. The error was immediately detected and corrected, customers were notified and QUALCOMM is now shipping large production volumes of the MSM5100 and MSM5105 to customers worldwide.
