Vt and I have been PM'ing regarding ewaves. We aren't on the exact same wavelength but heading to the same endpoint none the less. I have not sold any PM's recently. Think there is more left to this run. We shall see. Shorts of mine are interesting. I'm not a great trader, for various reasons. One I have Frank's problem. I work full time and then some, and have limited time to observe and make decisions. I also have to sleep, unfortunately, as I was not blessed with the ability to get by on 6 hrs or less a day. Anyway I traded a little about a core position. I am net ahead and well ahead over the last week or so. I think we are now on that slippery slope down that may go on for quite a while, before it is over. Just a little early to say for sure. In any event this is what I have been patiently waiting for. It has taken longer to develop than I initially thought it would. Note that during the course of this I did fall net behind a little at times, but was never overly concerned about it. I stayed out of the markets most of last fall (except for core PM positions), to give it a rest and to plan a path forward. I did considerably reading and spent time looking at a fair number of LT charts, indices and otherwise. Until I see reason to change I decided it was fundamentals, LT technicals, and ST technicals, in that order of importance for me. To choose this path requires patience, which I have. My reason for this path relates to the fundamentals. Sliders last post says it all. In the meantime it is patience, PM's, shorts, and a few NG and OSX long plays. I don't have any reason to get on the wrong side of the risk/reward situation. It is too risky here, no pun intended. So far, since choosing this path, I've been amptly rewarded, and have not had to over exert myself. At the beginning of this PM run in the middle of Nov I was over 50% in PM's. That was it. Now about 60%, 15 % NG, 5% OSX and rest shorts. My additions in PM's have been laggards and/or pure spec plays. Very little cash at the moment. I noticed you sold some NG today. I may soon as well. Have not because I felt we still have a little more time for upside. I read an interesting piece about the current price of crude the other day, and deflation. The summary was that the current price may be the prelude (and partial cause) to a deflationary situation for crude, which often occurs in times like we're in. I agree. If this middle east situation were to resolve itself, and the world econs were to take another serious dip, crude should take a beating. Will it happen? Who knows. By the way, added to SWC the other day, under 15.
